Patriots begin assembling practice squad by signings two tight ends
The Patriots are filling out their practice squad after Wednesday’s waiver claim period has ended.
The Patriots are signing tight ends CJ Dippre and Gee Scott Jr. to their practice squad, per sources.
Running back Terrell Jennings, center Alec Lindstrom, linebacker Cam Riley, guard Mehki Butler, outside linebackers Truman Jones and Bradyn Swinson and cornerback Miles Battle also are signing to the practice squad, per multiple reports.
All eight players spent training camp with the Patriots.
Swinson was Tuesday’s biggest surprise cut from the Patriots. He was selected in the fifth-round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of LSU. The only other rookie selected by the Patriots who was cut Tuesday was cornerback Kobee Minor, the final pick in the draft.
The Patriots can have 17 players on their practice squad if one of them is an international player pathway program player. If they don’t sign a player with an international exemption, then that number is 16 players.
