Pats Foundation, B of A award grants
The New England Patriots Foundation and Bank of America are awarding $50,000 gifts to six local nonprofits, including Braintree-based Good Sports, which provides equipment to young athletes in communities of need.
The other recipients were Casa Myrna in Dorchester, which serves domestic abuse victims; the social service organizations Father Bill’s & MainSpring in Plymouth; Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción in Boston; Minds Matter Boston; and a Boston Archdiocese housing assistance office.
The donations are part of the Community Captains program run by the foundation and the bank, and were announced by retired Patriots linebacker and NFL Hall of Famer Andre Tippett, who now leads the team’s community relations efforts.
