‘Drunk on oil & gas’

There are no solutions, only tradeoffs. Senator Markey should familiarize himself with this particular maxim as an alternative to his continuing efforts to browbeat OPEC into pursuing a policy unaligned with their goals.  Markey should pivot and pursue a new path to meeting the administration’s clean energy goals by enthusiastically endorsing nuclear power as an alternative to fossil fuels.

There is precedent for nuclear power in the U.S.  There are 93 commercial nuclear reactors in operation in the U.S. today.  These reactors account for almost 20% of the total electricity generated in this country.

But the industry is forward looking. New small-scale reactors which are miles ahead of the old technology are currently in development.  The NRC says at least two dozen developers are working on more than 50 new reactor designs.  The problem with moving forward with any of these plans is regulatory red tape.

Markey should put his efforts as Clean Air, Climate, and Nuclear Safety Subcommittee chair 100%  behind clearing the regulatory hurdles before another decade goes by.  He’ll actually have a legacy when he retires, as opposed to whatever it is he has now.

‘SNL’ cold open

In what world would the “SNL’ cold open last weekend ever be deemed appropriate? Making fun of the politicians calling the presidents of Harvard, MIT, and U Penn on the carpet, and totally ignoring those same presidents’ insane answers to questions highlighting the absolutely twisted standards in academia today.

These school leaders basically said it’s wrong, according to their academic policies, to call somebody fat, but OK in some cases to call for genocide of a certain race of people. So strange how this antisemitism is coming from the left, just like in Europe in the 1920s and 30s.

All I can say is for shame!

Party for some

Mayor Michelle Wu’s party without white people is a disgrace!  What if she had a party just for white folks?  She would be ousted immediately!  Omitting white people is also racist and it has no place in Boston.  All Boston City employees responsible for these racist non-white parties need to lose their jobs immediately!
