Herald readers nail Karen Read outcome, sort of

You’ve done it again!

Herald readers came tantalizingly close to predicting the outcome of the Karen Read retrial in our poll.

Out of the 4,645 votes cast, 76% predicted a not guilty finding. That was close, the jury found Read guilty of only OUI, as you know. In our poll, 9% of you said she would be found guilty of “one or more” of the charges. The drunken driving conviction is a misdemeanor, so whoever leaned that way is the winner.

It still feels like a win for the not guilty crowd, though. The rest of you — the 11% who voted for “guilty” and the 4% who asked to be woken up when it’s over — fill out the voting field. Time to wake up, by the way. Thanks for voting!
