Red Sox game postponed, rescheduled for Saturday as part of doubleheader
For the second straight night, the Red Sox and Orioles have been rained out.
The Red Sox announced that the second game of Friday’s doubleheader has been postponed due to the forecast of continued rain throughout the evening. The game will be made up as part of a new doubleheader on Saturday, with the first game scheduled to begin at 1:05 p.m. and the second game at 6:35 p.m.
Hunter Dobbins will start the first game of the doubleheader for the Red Sox, and Lucas Giolito will start the second.
The postponement comes a day after Thursday’s originally scheduled series opener was also postponed due to the nor’easter that moved through the area. That game was made up earlier Friday, with the Red Sox winning 19-5.
Tickets for Friday night’s game will be good for admission to Saturday afternoon’s game. The regularly scheduled Saturday game was originally expected to begin at 4:10 p.m. and has been pushed back to later in the evening.
Both games will be televised on NESN and covered on the radio by WEEI 93.7 FM in English and by WESX 1230 AM/WCCM 1490 AM in Spanish.
