Tennis: Team seasons end for Hawks, Storm
Two doubles matches went three sets, neither going Chaska’s way, as the fifth seed in Section 2AA North fell 7-0 at Orono on May 17.
Blake Davis and Nelson Morlock won the first set 7-6 only to drop the remaining two 6-2, 10-7 at first doubles.
In the third position, Xander Stokka and Zach Mitchell pulled out the first set in a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 defeat.
Patrick Quinn and Ryan Mitchell took six games at second doubles (6-4, 6-2) as well.
Other matches featured Ian Altenburg (2-6, 1-6), Bailey Davis (1-6, 0-6), Nick Pries (0-6, 0-6), and Tanner Dussault (2-6, 1-6) in singles for Chaska.
The Hawks won eight matches in 2016.
Chaska competes in the Section 2AA Individual Tournament on May 28 at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.
EDEN PRAIRIE 6, CHANHASSEN 1
Alex Niebeling and Drew Dorn combined for a victory at first doubles for the lone victory in a 6-1 loss to host Eden Prairie in the Section 2AA North playoffs on Tuesday.
The Storm, seeded sixth, were 10-6 on the season.
No other match results were available.
Chanhassen competes in the individual portion of the tournament May 28 and 31 at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.
Top singles player Matt Dorn, out with an illness for nearly a month, is expected to return to practice mid-week.
