Sabers in elimination game tonight
The Shakopee baseball team has its back against the wall.
One more loss and the Sabers baseball season is over.
That problem came to be as the Sabers lost to Edina 5-3 on Saturday in the winner’s bracket final.
Because the Sabers lost they are one loss from elimination.
Shakopee will try to stave off elimination tonight against either Eden Prairie or Chanhassen at 7:30 at Eden Prairie’s Round Lake Baseball Park.
Eden Prairie and Chanhassen will play at 5 p.m. in the first elimination game of the night.
The winner of Eden Prairie/Chanhassen vs. Shakopee will play Edina on Tuesday for the section title. That team must beat Edina twice to win the section.
In the loss to Edina, it was one bad inning that did the Sabers in.
The Hornets scored five runs in the second inning and made that stand up as the Sabers scored three late runs but couldn’t get any closer.
Shakopee was only able to collect four hits off Edina pitching. Evan Stark got two of those hits.
