Tiger boys edge Panthers in OT
It took an extra five minutes, but the Hutchinson boys basketball team was able to get revenge on Glencoe-Silver Lake Friday with a 62-57 overtime win in Glencoe.
The Panthers (9-6, 4-3 WCC) beat Hutch earlier in the year in a nonconference game, but Friday’s game counted toward the Wright County Conference standings for the Tigers (5-11, 4-4 WCC).
Hutchinson built a 14-point lead in the first half but let it slip away as the Panthers roared back to tie the game at 52 at the end of regulation. The Tigers scored 10 points in OT and held GSL to five for the win.
Leading Hutch’s offense with 23 points and 12 rebounds was Marcus Hahn. Jayden Juergensen also added 12 points and 16 rebounds for a couple of double-double games.
GSL had three double-digit scorers and was led by Garrett Ober’s 17 points.
Hutchinson’s game scheduled for Tuesday against Delano was postponed. Hutch’s next game is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Friday when it hosts Dassel-Cokato.
