Gophers tight end Nathan Jones to enter transfer portal
Gophers redshirt sophomore tight end Nathan Jones plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, a source confirmed to the Pioneer Press on Wednesday.
Jones, of Brock, Texas, played in seven total games at Minnesota, mostly on special teams, across 2023 and 2024. He played in six games last fall, with one catch for 10 yards against Rhode Island.
Jones, who was academic all-Big Ten in 2023-24, enters the portal as a graduate transfer. He completed his studies in 2 1/2 years.
Jones is the 14th player to exit via the portal the U since October.
