BOYS BASKETBALL
In nonleague action, Mitchell Dumas (27 points, 15 rebounds), Carl Dumas (20 points, 13 rebounds, 10 steals) and Dalton Kinnon (23 points) paced the Mystic Valley (8-2) offense in a 92-58 win over Notre Dame (Tyngsboro). Mystic Valley head coach Tony Ferullo recorded his 300th career win. … Liam Sullivan led the way with 21 points while Oliver Curley and Jake Lofstrom poured in 19 and 13 points respectively as Silver Lake defeated Rockland, 59-51. … Isaiah Green put up 33 points for Hull in a 69-30 victory over Codman Academy.
In the Cape Ann League, Caden Shrock (15 points, seven rebounds) and AB Labell (10 points, nine rebounds, five steals) provided a spark as Hamilton-Wenham edged Triton, 40-37.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Freshman Amara Louis had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, all coming in the second half alone as Arlington Catholic (7-5) defeated nonleague foe Saugus, 54-44. … Caitlin Boyle (22 points, 7 rebounds) and Celia Neilson (17 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists) led the way as Bishop Fenwick topped Whitman-Hanson, 47-32.
Amelia Crowe scored 15 points, and Allie Gagnon tallied 11 points as Pentucket (8-2) defeated Georgetown 50-35 in the Cape Ann League. … Sophie Gallivan finished with 20 points to go with eight rebounds, as North Reading (9-1) cruised to a 55-38 win over Amesbury.
Muji Vader knocked down 23 points, and Caitlyn Turell chipped in with eight points as Minuteman (7-1) bested Northeast 51-26 in the Commonwealth Athletic Conference.
BOYS HOCKEY
In the Catholic Conference, BC High defeated rival Malden Catholic, delivering head coach John Flaherty his 200th career victory with the program during a 7-1 romp. … Brady Chenevert registered a pair of goals in the third period, leading St. John’s (Shrewsbury) (7-3) to a wild 4-2 victory over Xaverian. … Sam Croke, Kevin Correa and JR Goldstein each scored in the third period for St. John’s Prep, aiding AJ Farese (38 saves) as part of a 5-2 win over Catholic Memorial to remain unbeaten in the conference.
Last year’s Middlesex League Liberty top finishers Arlington and Reading played to a 2-2 tie in their first matchup, after Evan Sparks tallied the equalizer in the third period for the Spy Ponders (6-3-1) and John Snider (25 saves) stopped four shots in overtime. Nate Mulvey and Jack Melly scored for the Rockets (6-1-1). … Massive nights from Liam Guilderson (three goals, three assists) and Leo Packard (hat trick) powered Belmont past Woburn, 8-4.

GIRLS HOCKEY
Kayleigh Koen buried the winning goal on the power play in the third period, while Jackie Wright made 24 saves to secure the shutout as St. Mark’s edged Lawrence Academy 1-0 in the Independent School League.
In the MVC/DCL (Large), Sammy Ryan sniped the game-winning goal in overtime, as Methuen/Tewksbury defeated Boston Latin, 3-2.
Maddie Cantor and Penny Saich scored two goals and dished one assist apiece, and Lainey Burns and Katie Comerford finished with a goal each as Norwell/Scituate/Abington (6-4-0) defeated Patriot League foe Quincy/North Quincy, 6-0. … Hannah Lasch, Addy Garrity and Caroline Doherty all scored for Hingham (10-0), helping it beat Duxbury 3-2 for the first time in over three years.

FOOTBALL
Pentucket’s Steve Hayden, the dean of high school football coaches in the Cape Ann League, recently stepped down after a 42-year run as head coach. Hayden amassed an overall record of 251-202-2, the 251 wins are 16th in state history along with the legendary Stan Bondelevitch.
In other football news, Wilmington and Everett have been interviewing for their vacant football positions. In addition, the North Andover and Andover athletic departments posted for football openings on X, though incumbent E.J. Perry told the Herald via text message that he has reapplied for his job at Andover.
