Javi Lopez buried the winning shot with three seconds remaining to give Central Catholic a 56-54 Merrimack Valley Conference win over North Andover. …. Tzar Powell Aparicio did it all with 29 points, eight assists and five steals, as Lowell knocked off Methuen 72-60.

Matt Breen led scoring with 21 points and Nate Jean-Francois chipped in 14 points off the bench to pace Shawsheen (7-1) in a 58-47 nonleague win over Worcester Tech. … Janiel Tolentino registered a double-double (24 points, 10 rebounds), while Thad Broughton added 20 points and seven boards for Peabody (6-3) during a 66-53 victory over KIPP Academy. … Tyler Staiti (25 points, eight rebounds) and Kingston Maxwell (18 points, 11 rebounds, six assists) combined offensively to shoulder Abington (7-1) in a 75-65 win over New Bedford.

Mike Dankert caught fire for 29 points, Nate Reynolds added 15 points and Emery Robbins had 10 points as Bourne (5-1) surged past Case, 71-44, in South Coast Conference action. … Finn Bjork turned in a double-double (12 points, 21 rebounds), and Dom Taylor (23 points, seven rebounds), Colten Pacheco (22 points, four assists) and Brendan McDonald (14 points, six rebounds, five steals) reached double figures in scoring as well as Somerset Berkley (7-1) beat Dighton-Rehoboth 87-81 in a double overtime thriller.

Kobe Nguyen (22 points), Aidan McGrath (19 points) and Lucas Short (18 points) paced the North Quincy (8-1) offense in a 66-49 Patriot League win over Marshfield. … Liam Sullivan (21 points), Jake Lofstrom (15 points) and Oliver Curley (13 points) combined efforts to lead Silver Lake over Pembroke, 72-67. … Senior captain Dylan Perrault erupted for a career-high 30 points, while classmate Jah Estrella turned in a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) as Whitman-Hanson knocked off Plymouth South 61-47.

Paul Conway sank a jumper in the final seconds to lift Lincoln-Sudbury over Concord-Carlisle, 55-54, in a Dual County League thriller.

Cole Craffey (22 points) and Justin Grimaldi (12 points) steered Oliver Ames toward a 60-48 Hockomock League win over Canton.

Manny Duran contributed 17 points, three rebounds and five steals, while Mason Mills recorded 17 points and two steals as Xaverian earned a 56-32 Catholic Conference win over St. John’s Prep.

Rolky Brea Arias (19 points, 15 rebounds), DJ Reynolds (18 points) and Shyheim Babb (16 points) guided Lynn Classical in a 62-46 Greater Boston League win over Medford.

Caden Shrock scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while AB Labell did his part with eight points, nine rebounds, seven assists and eight steals as Hamilton-Wenham defeated Pentucket 69-42 in the Cape Ann League.

Ryan Altman (27 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, four steals), Robby Fiore (19 points, three rebounds, two assists, block) and Pat Costello (11 points, seven rebounds) guided Rivers during a 65-49 Independent School League win over BB&N.

In other news, Stoneham has forfeited seven games due to an ineligible player. The Spartans were off to their best start in years (7-0) and were ranked No. 13 in the latest MIAA statewide power rankings in Division 3.

Girls basketball

Chisom Jones erupted for 36 points, helping Boston Latin edge Waltham 44-43 in a Dual County League clash. … Alani Hoilett (17 points, eight rebounds), Sarah Poland (13 points, 10 rebounds, five assists), Evie Schwartz (11 points, six assists) and Alice Wallerstein (10 points, 10 rebounds) broke into double figure in scoring for Lincoln-Sudbury in a 62-36 win over Concord-Carlisle.

Bailey Delaire put up 22 points, and Sylvie Lafeber finished with 11 points and paced the defense as Mystic Valley defeated Shawsheen 41-20 in the Commonwealth Athletic Conference.

Kailey Sullivan scored 22 points, while Adrianna Porazzo collected 17 points and seven assists  and Ava Hill had 13 points and nine rebounds as Foxboro routed Stoughton 76-26 in the Hockomock League. … Chloe Fallas tallied 15 points, while Lena Malymina and Mallory Santos registered 11 points each as Franklin bested Attleboro, 57-46.

Dylan Hurley poured in 17 points, and Maliah Pierre tacked on nine points as Whitman-Hanson (5-3) defeated Plymouth South 65-43 in Patriot League play. … Maeve Powers scored 17 points, and A’laya Colbert had 10 points as North Quincy (7-1) defeated Marshfield, 49-31. … Addie Monahan scored 11 points as Hanover took down Hingham, 40-25.

Bella DeOliveira and Julia Ray led a balanced attack with nine points each for Covenant Christian during a 40-33 win over Landmark in the Independent Girls Conference.

Amelia Crowe knocked down 17 points for Pentucket (6-2) during a 59-22 Cape Ann League win over Hamilton-Wenham. … Ariana Demetri netted 21 points for North Reading (8-0) in a 57-23 victory over Georgetown.

Nora Simpson scored 11 points for Arlington Catholic (6-4) in a 40-20 Catholic Central League win over Cardinal Spellman.

In the South Shore League, Avery Cobban finished with 15 points and added nine rebounds, as Sandwich (5-3) rolled to a 48-22 victory over Rockland. … Senior Maddie Oliver buried six three-pointers en route to a double-double (22 points, 12 rebounds), as Norwell defeated Middleboro, 53-31.

Marlo Jumper scored 11 points, and Katelyn Lawson recorded 10 points as St. John Paul II (6-3) coasted to a 56-16 Cape and Islands League win over Nauset.

Frankie Spadorcia fired in 17 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to boost Braintree to a 56-47 Bay State Conference win over Framingham.

Kiera Lenihan paced her team with a 21-point performance, as Andover (5-2) cruised to a 67-23 win over Lawrence in the Merrimack Valley Conference.

Mia Taranto (seven points) buried the winning three-pointer for Stoneham in a 37-36 Middlesex League victory over Watertown. Vivian Schofield and Lila Bunnell had nine points each for the Spartans.
