Here is what we know as of Wednesday, from the winner of the White House to the control of the Minnesota Legislature to the bond results of local school referendums.

The president of the United States

Donald Trump was elected the 47th president of the United States on Wednesday in an extraordinary comeback.

With his win in Wisconsin, Trump cleared the 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the presidency.

U.S. Senate and House

Republicans have taken the Senate majority and are fighting to keep control of the House, the Associated Press reports Wednesday.

Minnesota races for the U.S. Senate

Democratic U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar has won a fourth term, defeating anti-establishment Republican and former NBA player Royce White in Minnesota’s top election matchup.

Minnesota races for the U.S. House

St. Paul Democratic U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum won reelection Tuesday in her race against GOP challenger May Lor Xiong. McCollum is Minnesota’s longest-serving representative.

Here are the numbers from Minnesota’s 4th district.

Democratic U.S. Rep. Angie Craig won a fourth term Tuesday in Minnesota’s tightest congressional race, a faceoff against Republican challenger and former federal prosecutor Joe Teirab.

Craig beat Teirab in the 2nd District, which includes a political mix of outer suburbs of Minneapolis and St. Paul south of the Minnesota River, and rural areas farther south that trend Republican. It’s Minnesota’s sole swing district.

Minnesota House

Control of the Minnesota House is tied at 67 to 67 seats, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s office.

Results on Wednesday morning show Republicans flipping three seats, Mary Murphy of Forum News Service reports.

If the results stand, it’s been decades since this happened.

Minnesota Senate

As for the Minnesota Senate, Alex Derosier reports that early results showed the DFL managed to keep a one-seat majority in the Senate by winning a special election.

Minnesota Supreme Court

Two incumbent justices seeking reelection to the Minnesota Supreme Court won in Tuesday’s election. The third incumbent on the ballot did not face a challenger.

Minnesota’s lottery-related question

Minnesota voters on Tuesday backed a ballot measure extending authorization for state lottery money use on conservation and environmental efforts.

The “yes” votes won big, Alex Derosier reports.

St. Paul

St. Paul residents voted on two city-specific ballot questions Tuesday:

They rejected an initiative that would raise property taxes annually — each year for 10 years — to help pay childcare costs for families in need.

They agreed to move municipal elections for mayor and city council to an even-year cycle to capture higher voter turn-out during presidential years.

Washington County

Residents in Oakdale, Stillwater and Woodbury on Tuesday voted to levy local sales taxes or extend an existing one to pay for municipal projects ranging from parks to public safety improvements, but voters in Cottage Grove were not supportive of their city’s request.

Also: Voters in Baytown Township made it clear they want the township to stay a township. Mary Divine has results on the referendum regarding incorporation as well as which candidates won spots on the town board.

Dakota County

Voters approved school district funding requests for Inver Grove Heights and Burnsville-Eagan-Savage schools.

Elsewhere, a more somber tone came with election results as levy efforts in Lakeville Area Schools and Farmington Area schools both failed to pass.
