Leif Enger (Robin Enger)

Leif Enger’s latest novel, “I Cheerfully Refuse,” a Lake Superior sailing adventure, is among Amazon’s Top 20 Books of the Year So Far, as well as one of the Editors’ Personal Picks.

Peter Geye fans, heads up!  The author of novels such as “The Lighthouse Road,” “Northernmost” and “The Ski Jumper” has a new one scheduled for April publication. “A Lesser Light,” published by the University of Minnesota Press, is set on the shore of Lake Superior in 1910 and tells the story of a newly commissioned lighthouse station, its keeper, and an ill-suited arranged marriage. Sounds terrific.
