Kromah, at 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds, will remain on the Patriots’ active roster for at least the next three weeks. He went undrafted last spring and was released on cutdown day last month. The Bears re-signed him to their practice squad as a developmental player.

Kromah reached the NFL after posting 11 sacks in 13 starts as a redshirt senior at James Madison last year. At his Pro Day, he ran a 4.77 in the 40-yard dash. He transferred to JMU after playing four seasons at Rutgers. He joins Keion White, Deatrich Wise, Anfernee Jennings and Joshua Uche on the Patriots’ edge defender depth chart.
