Donald Trump ‘hates’ Taylor Swift after her endorsement of Kamala Harris
Donald Trump is most definitely not a Swiftie, in case you were wondering.
The former U.S. President, on Sunday, took to his Truth Social media account to offer his unprompted distaste for the pop superstar, removing all doubt as to his feelings for the woman behind the highest grossing concert tour of all time.
“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Trump wrote, capitalization his.
Though his post may make you think he perhaps failed to find tickets for her upcoming Eras Tour stop in Miami Gardens — she’ll be in Florida for sold-out shows from October 18 to 20 — Trump’s sudden declaration of derision comes just days after Swift’s announcement that she would support Vice President Kamala Harris’ run for the White House in 2024 sparked a flood of voters to check or make their registration.
Early voting can begin in Florida on October 25.
The Grammy winning singer-songwriter said shortly after Trump and Harris met for their debate that she will be voting for the Vice President, “because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” she said.
The 34-year-old signed her message to her 283 million Instagram followers “Childless Cat Lady,” an apparent reference to VP candidate JD Vance’s assertion that the country is run by, among others, “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.”
In making her endorsement, Swift suggested that Trump’s recent decision to share artificially generated images of her, which indicated she might support his reelection efforts, played a part in her decision making process, and “brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter.”
“I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice,” she said. “Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.”
Swift also endorsed President Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 election.
Trump’s post came just after he also declared in no uncertain terms that those wealthy voters who support Harris aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed.
“All rich, job creating people, that support Comrade Kamala Harris, you are STUPID. She is seeking an UNREALIZED TAX ON CAPITAL GAINS. If this tax actually gets enacted, it guarantees that we will have a 1929 style Depression,” he wrote in part, capitalization again entirely his.
The Harris-Walz campaign managed to squeeze several Swift song references into their reply statement.
“The American people want to be Out of the Woods of the chaos and division of the Trump era, leave behind the Blank Space of Trump’s broken promises, and Begin Again by electing Vice President Harris to ensure America’s future of opportunity is Long Lived,” Harris-Walz 2024 Spokesperson Sarafina Chitika said.
