Saints drop fourth to Clippers on the road
The Saints fell to the Columbus Clippers 6-3, their fourth loss in a row, on Saturday in Ohio.
St. Paul started the scoring at the top of the first inning when DaShawn Keirsey Jr. grounded into a double play that scored Payton Eeles, but the Clippers matched it in the bottom of the inning and kept going. The only interruption was an RBI single by Keirsey in the third, and Diego Castillo doubled in the ninth to score Jair Camargo.
Keirsey had two hits in his return to the Saints’ lineup after a stint with the Minnesota Twins.
Travis Adams (0-1) started off pitching for the Saints, allowing seven hits and five runs, all of them earned, in his five innings.
St. Paul meets the Clippers again Sunday at 12:05 p.m. in Columbus.
