Quarterback swap: Vikings waive Jaren Hall, sign Brett Rypien
Less than 48 hours after making the initial 53-man roster, quarterback Jaren Hall has been waived by the Vikings.
This is somewhat of a surprise given how impressive Hall was in the exhibition slate.
There’s a chance the Vikings sign Hall to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
In a corresponding move, the Vikings have signed quarterback Brett Rypien, who brings more experience to the room.
After going undrafted out of Boise State, Rypien has spent time with the Broncos, Rams, Seahawks, Jets and Bears. He has played 10 NFL games in his career, completing 98 of 168 passes for 950 yards.
