Former St. Paul Mayor George Latimer’s funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, at the Church of the Assumption at 51 West Seventh St.

Latimer, who served as mayor from 1976 to 1990, died at his longtime Episcopal Homes residence on University Avenue in St. Paul on Sunday at the age of 89.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:50 a.m. prior to the Mass. There will be a private interment, according to his obituary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to go to People Inc, Mental Health Services; The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library; or The Bridge for Youth homeless shelter.
