The Kia EV2 is among the Top 10 best-selling models in Ireland in August.

The Irish new car market is up 3% year-on-year in August to 7,806 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 5.1% to 121,972. Toyota (+61.7%) and Kia (+21.6%) both shoot up to lead the brands charts with 14% and 12.5% share respectively. On the other hand Skoda (-13.1%) struggles at #3. Ford (+47.2%), Volkswagen (+24.9%) and Dacia (+19.9%) are the only additional gainers in the Top 10, with Hyundai (-33.7%) and BMW (-21.8%) hit particularly hard. 

The Toyota RAV4 (+446.4%) is up 5-fold year-on-year to sail off into the distance with 5.9% share, but is stuck at #9 year-to-date with sales down -19.8%. #1 so far this year, the Toyota Yaris Cross (+63.6%) ends August in 2nd place, up 8 on July. The Skoda Octavia (-22.7%) was #1 last month but is now down to #3, followed by the Kia Sportage (-22.4%) and Skoda Kodiaq (-8%). The Kia Stonic (+73.8%) and VW Tiguan (+24.9%) also shine while the new Kia EV2 spectacularly breaks into the Top 10, up 40 spots on July to #9.
