Legisladores de la UE votan para bloquear acuerdo con Mercosur por preocupaciones legales
BRUSELAS (AP) — Legisladores de la Unión Europea votaron el miércoles para bloquear el acuerdo comercial con el grupo Mercosur de países sudamericanos debido a preocupaciones sobre la legalidad del arreglo.
En una votación en Estrasburgo, Francia, los legisladores aprobaron por un estrecho margen enviar el acuerdo al tribunal superior de Europa para que dictamine si está en línea con los tratados del bloque. Los legisladores votaron con 334 votos a favor, 324 en contra y 11 abstenciones.
El acuerdo de libre comercio fue firmado el sábado. Tenía como objetivo fortalecer los lazos comerciales ante el creciente proteccionismo y las tensiones comerciales en todo el mundo.
