Andreeva remonta y vence a Mboko en la final de Adelaida
ADELAIDA, Australia (AP) — La tercera cabeza de serie Mirra Andreeva remontó una desventaja de 3-0 para hilar su novena victoria y obtener el cetro del torneo de Adelaida, al doblegar el sábado 6-3, 6-1 a Victoria Mboko.
El partido presentó a las únicas jugadoras menores de 20 años dentro del top 20 de la Gira de la WTA. Andreeva tiene 18 años y Mboko 19.
La canadiense tomó una ventaja de 3-0 en el primer set antes de que Andreeva igualara el partido, al ganar 13 puntos consecutivos y dominar el resto del set y del duelo.
Mboko perdía 3-0 en el segundo set, cuando solicitó un tiempo por motivos médicos, durante el cual le tomaron la presión arterial y el pulso. Regresó para ganar su primer juego del segundo set, pero Andreeva cerró el partido tres games después.
Fue el quinto título de Andreeva en la WTA, en su sexta final.
Mboko se ha establecido rápidamente cerca de la cima del ranking y tiene dos títulos en su carrera: el WTA 1000 Canadian Open en Montreal el año pasado y el WTA 250 Hong Kong Open.
En la final masculina posterior en Adelaida, Tomas Machac iba a jugar contra Ugo Humbert.
