Corte Suprema federal bloquea fallo contra nuevo mapa electoral de Texas
WASHINGTON (AP) — La Corte Suprema de Estados Unidos bloqueó temporalmente el viernes un fallo de un tribunal inferior que determinó que el plan de redistribución de distritos legislativos de Texas para 2026 probablemente discrimina por motivos de raza.
La orden firmada por el juez Samuel Alito permanecerá vigente al menos durante los próximos días mientras la corte considera si permite que el nuevo mapa favorable a los republicanos se utilice en las elecciones de mitad de periodo.
La mayoría conservadora de la corte ha bloqueado fallos similares de tribunales inferiores porque se presentaron demasiado cerca de las elecciones.
