The Seat Ibiza is the 2nd best-selling vehicle in Austria in October.

Another very satisfying month for new car sales in Austria, up 11.4% year-on-year in October to 24,479. Through October, volumes are up 12.5% to 239,594. Volkswagen (+34.4%) stays on top of the brands charts with 14.7% share, distancing Skoda (+6.7%) which was #1 a year ago. BMW (-7.5%) and Audi (-14.6%) both struggle while Mercedes (+7%) rounds out the Top 5 in weak fashion. The next five carmakers all brilliantly outpace the market. Opel (+78.6%) is the most dynamic followed by Dacia (+49.9%), Peugeot (+46.5%), Seat (+41%) and at a distance Toyota (+13.7%). Further down, Citroen (+148%), Fiat (+95.8%) and MG (+95.7%) stand out. Tesla is down -64.5%.

As for models, the Skoda Octavia (+2.2%) is a distant leader this month at 3.5% share vs. 2.8% so far this year. It is followed by the Seat Ibiza (+60.2%), in outstanding shape and climbing to its highest ranking since January when it also ranked #2. The VW Golf (+7.2%) is stuck in third place, ahead of the BMW X1 (+9.6%) and a surging VW Polo (+114.1%). The new Skoda Elroq lodges a third Top 10 finish in the past 5 months at a best-ever 8th place, also hit last January. The Seat Leon (+91.8%) also impresses while the new Dacia Bigster is back up six spots on September to #12.
