Patriots starting running back Rhamondre Stevenson misses practice with injury
Stevenson sat out Wednesday’s practice with a new toe injury. His consecutive absences suggest he will not be available for this weekend’s game versus the Falcons. In recent days, the Patriots have also signed three running backs to their practice squad, and promoted Terrell Jennings from the practice squad to their 53-man roster.
If Stevenson cannot play, second-round rookie TreVeyon Henderson is likely to see the lion’s share of carries Sunday. He rushed for a season-high 75 yards last weekend in a win over the Browns. Stevenson leads the Patriots in rushing with 279 yards and three touchdowns this season.
Starting right tackle Morgan Moses returned to the start of practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday on a day of veteran rest. The 34-year-old is among a few players expected to have their workload managed over the second half of the season.
The Patriots will release their next injury report Thursday evening.
