Austria September 2025: Hyundai (+102.7%) highlights strong market (+29.4%)

Hyundai sales more than double year-on-year in Austria in September.

It’s a third consecutive double-digit year-on-year lift in a row in Austria with September new car sales up a whopping 29.4% to 25,745. The year-to-date tally is up 12.6% to 215,115. Volkswagen surges 48% to 14.3% share ahead of Skoda up 17.8% to 10.8% of the market. Hyundai (+102.7%) does even better and climbs five spots on last month to #3 and 7.6% share vs. #9 and 4% year-to-date. Audi (+12.5%) is a little more discreet in context at #4 with Mercedes (+49.5%) rounding out the Top 5 in spectacular fashion. Dacia (+52.2%) is the only additional Top 10 member beating the market just as BMW (-33.5%) is hit hard at #7. Tesla edges up 6.8% to #9. Below, Nissan (+226.6%), Mitsubishi (+218.4%), Mazda (+136.2%) and Citroen (+130.5%) stand out.

Over in the models charts, the Skoda Octavia (+18.1%) stays on top with 2.9% share, only 7 sales above the Tesla Model Y (+12.4%). Three VWs follow: the Golf (+70.4%), Tiguan (+20.3%) and Polo (+60.5%). The Hyundai Tucson (+389.2%) storms its way back into the Top 10 at #6, the nameplate’s highest ranking so far this year. The MG ZS (+3177.8%), Mazda CX-30 (+462.5%), Hyundai i10 (+459%), VW T-Cross (+120.8%), Seat Leon (+119%) and Audi A3 (+88.9%) make themselves noticed further down.
