Segment of I-494 near MSP airport to close overnight this weekend

Motorists take note: This weekend a section of Interstate 494 will be closed overnight just west of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Starting at 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, I-494 will be closed in both directions between Interstate 35W and Minnesota 77 through 5 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11. All ramps in this area will be closed during this time.

This overnight closure is planned as crews perform work on the Portland Avenue bridge deck.

Traffic will be directed to Minnesota 62 via I-35W and Minnesota 77.

Ramp closures will follow the full road closure.

Starting at 10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, the I-494 eastbound ramp to Lyndale Avenue will be closed through Sunday, Nov. 9. Traffic will be directed to use Nicollet Avenue to American Boulevard to Lyndale Avenue.

The northbound I-35W ramp to eastbound I-494 will close at 10 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12, through Sunday, Nov. 16. Traffic on northbound I-35W will be directed to eastbound Minnesota 62, southbound Minnesota 77 and then to eastbound I-494.
