The Patriots needed additional running back depth after Antonio Gibson tore his ACL in Sunday’s 23-20 win over the Bills. Corbin joins fellow running back Terrell Jennings on the Patriots’ practice squad. They also have Rhamondre Stevenson and rookie TreVeyon Henderson on the 53-man roster.

The Patriots released offensive lineman Royce Newman to make room on the practice squad.

Corbin is listed at 5-foot-11, 200 pounds. He was the UFL’s rushing leader and earned All-UFL honors last season after a 97-carry, 514-yard, four-touchdown campaign. He also caught 18 passes for 138 yards.

Coming out of Florida State, Corbin ran a 4.60-second 40-yard dash and wasn’t selected in the 2022 NFL Draft. He rushed for 1,771 yards and 14 touchdowns in four college seasons split between Florida State and Texas A&M. Corbin also has experience as a kick returner from his time in college.

Corbin played six games with the Giants in 2023, scoring a 1-yard touchdown on one carry. He also caught three passes for 12 yards.
