Canton Police arrest man after stabbing at gas station

Canton police officers arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a stabbing at a gas station on Wednesday morning.

Rhode Island man Osmin Ramirez, of Providence, has been arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Canton Police responded to a Shell gas station at 731 Washington St., for a report of a customer dispute at around 7:45 a.m.

Ramirez was allegedly involved in a fight with a coworker outside their van that was parked at a gas pump. During the altercation, Ramirez allegedly stabbed a 29-year-old man in the stomach with a pair of scissors.

The victim was taken to a local hospital by the Canton Fire Department, and he was expected to survive his injuries.

Following an on-scene investigation, Ramirez was taken into custody without further incident.

He was arraigned on Wednesday in Stoughton District Court, and held on $2,500 bail.
