Vietnam July 2025: VinFast monopolises Top 4

The VinFast VF 3 remains the most popular vehicle in Vietnam.

Data by local carmaker association VAMA and Hyundai have the Vietnamese new vehicle market at 35,340 sales, up 4% year-on-year. The year-to-date tally is up 15.2% to 222,555. This month once again we have access to exclusive figures by local manufacturer VinFast, which sends the overall market to 46,819 for the month and 301,603 YTD. VinFast which easily holds onto the brands top spot with 24.5% share vs. 26.2% so far this year. Toyota (+2.9%) has a strong month at 14.2% share vs. 11.9% through July, while Thaco-Kia (+12.7%) and Ford (+31.4%) also shine. Hyundai (-28.7%) and Mitsubishi (-15.7%) are hit hard.

Over in the models charts, VinFast monopolises the Top 4 for the first time. The VF 3 keeps the lead at 6.7% share above the VF 5 at 5.5%, the new Herio Green at #3 and the VF 6 at #4. The Herio Green is a version of the VF 5 dedicated to service business customers. The Ford Ranger (+25.2%) is the best of the rest at #5, distancing the Mazda CX-5 (+51.9%), Mitsubishi Xpander (+4.1%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (+1.4%).
