The shooter in an incident in midtown Manhattan on July 28 has been neutralized, according to authorities.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said earlier that the city had an active shooter investigation.
“There is an active shooter investigation taking place in Midtown right now,” he said on social media. The shooting reportedly took place at an office building in Manhattan that houses financial firms and the NFL.
“Please take proper safety precautions if you are in vicinity and do not go outside if you are near Park Avenue and East 51st Street,” Adams said.
At 7:52 p.m., New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the shooter had been neutralized.
“At this time, the scene has been contained and the lone shooter has been neutralized,” Tisch said.
According to FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, the FBI New York Field Office was responding to provide support at the crime scene.
