Lynx waive international prospect Marième Badiane
The Lynx have cut ties with international prospect Marième Badiane.
Minnesota waived the French national on Wednesday. A star for the French national team and Istanbul-based Fenerbahçe. Badiane played in three games for the Lynx after signing with the club on Feb. 1, playing a total of 11 minutes with two steals and a rebound.
A 6-foot-4 post, Badiane helped France reach the championship game in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Playing with Lynx stars Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride, she was part of Fenerbahçe’s FIBA EuroLeague and KBSL championships last spring.
One of two unbeaten teams in the WNBA, the Lynx (8-0) will play a Commissioner’s Cup game at Dallas on Sunday. Tip is set for 3 p.m. The Lynx are 2-0 in the WNBA’s in-season tournament.
