Red Sox lineups: Garrett Crochet looking to help complete sweep of Mets
After three straight games in which the starting pitcher failed to finish five innings, the Red Sox bullpen is running on fumes.
Fortunately, the club has its ace on the mound tonight.
Garrett Crochet (4-3, 2.00) will take the mound for Wednesday’s series finale against the New York Mets. The left-hander will face off against Mets right-hander Tylor Megill (3-4, 3.74) and presumably have a long leash with few fresh arms available to support him in the bullpen.
The Red Sox lineup will feature most of the usual suspects, with Kristian Campbell back again at second base and Nick Sogard set to start at first. Trevor Story, normally a fixture of the top half of the lineup, is batting seventh amid a deep slump in which he’s batted .140 over his last 13 games.
