Boston Police investigating after man fatally shot in Dorchester

An adult man was shot and killed in Dorchester late Saturday night, Boston Police reported Sunday.

At about 11 p.m., BPD said, officers responded to a radio call reporting a person shot around Blue Hill Avenue and Georgia Street in Dorchester.

At the scene, cops found an adult man with a single gunshot wound, Boston Police said. The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center and pronounced dead.

Boston Police did not identify the victim as of Sunday evening.

The department’s Homicide Unit is “actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident,” BPD said Sunday.

People may also provide information on the investigation anonymously through Boston Police CrimeStoppers online, by phone at 1-800-494-TIPS, or by texting the word “TIP” to CRIME.
