Red Sox lineup: Crochet makes Grapefruit League debut, Duran out with sore calf

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Garrett Crochet, Boston’s biggest offseason trade since Chris Sale in 2016, makes his Red Sox debut Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Red Sox lineup is full of everyday players making their preseason debuts, too. This will be the first look at Alex Bregman, Trevor Story, and Rob Refsnyder. Ceddanne Rafaela, who homered and walked in Saturday’s 6-4 win over the Rays, is back in center-field.

Jarren Duran was originally slated to make his spring training debut in the leadoff spot but was scratched due to a sore calf. He wanted to play, but the Red Sox decided to give him a rest day. Top prospect Roman Anthony will start in Duran’s place.
