Wednesday’s high school roundup/scores: Norwell wins tourney, hands Matt Marani his 300th win

In the championship of the Norwell Invitational Tournament, Maddie Oliver (21 points) and Regan Dowd (12 points) propelled Norwell to a 44-39 girls basketball win over Bishop Fenwick. Norwell head coach Matt Marani earned his 300th career victory.

In a Norwell consolation matchup, Addie Monahan recorded 15 points and was named a Norwell tournament All-Star, while Noey Giardina tacked on 12 points as Hanover (12-8) defeated Needham 47-40.

Frankie Spadorcia scored 18 points and was named a Roundball Classic All-Star, while Payton Clougher contributed five points and strong defense as Braintree beat Mansfield, 45-39. … In the championship, Kira Henderson led the way and earned MVP honors with eight points, three rebounds and three steals, while Olivia Penn and Bridget Pole scored seven points each as Natick (16-5) defeated Westford Academy, 35-27.
