NYC trans migrant accused of raping teen was arrested in Medford in June: sources
A transgender illegal immigrant busted in New York City for allegedly raping a 14-year-old boy last week was arrested this past summer in Medford but was somehow let go, the Herald has learned.
The suspect, Nicol Suarez, was accused of armed robbery, sexual conduct for a fee and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in June, according to Department of Homeland Security sources.
The Middlesex DA’s office did not immediately return calls to the Herald on Suarez.
The Massachusetts Trial Court told the Herald court officers are prohibited from keeping a released individual in custody awaiting an ICE agent. Suarez was released “before a detainer was lodged,” sources say.
The New York Post reported over the weekend that Suarez allegedly stalked and raped a boy in a Manhattan bodega bathroom this week. The Herald will stay on this story.
The Post added that Suarez, 30, originally from Colombia, was arrested near the crime scene the following day and was charged with first-degree rape. The Post added Suarez was also wanted in New Jersey.
The Massachusetts Trial Court also said “court officers are prohibited from assisting or interfering with ICE agents in executing their obligations under Federal law. That means that a court officer will not interfere with ICE arresting an individual who has been released. (And they) … do not have the authority to hold an individual in custody solely on the basis of a Federal Civil Immigration Detainer.”
This is a developing story …
