Police Report: Jan. 17, 2009
The Savage Police Department issued 46 citations between Jan. 1 and 7 and responded to 192 incidents between Jan. 2 and 9. Some of the incidents included the following:
CRASHES
A crash involving a 20-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, both of Savage, occurred near O’Connell Road and O’Connell Court on Jan. 2. It was reported that the woman didn’t see the man’s vehicle before turning onto O’Connell Road. There were no injuries.
On Jan. 3 a one-vehicle rollover crash was reported near West 158th Street and Allen Boulevard. The woman was wearing a seatbelt and was able to crawl out of the car. There were no injuries.
A hit-and-run crash involving a car hitting a fire hydrant was reported in the 13200 block of Webster Avenue on Jan. 3.
A 22-year-old man from Savage was cited for careless driving after being involved in a crash with a 21-year-old Burnsville man near McColl Drive and Lynn Avenue on Jan. 5.
THEFT
A Burnsville resident reported theft of a briefcase valued at $150 from a car while it was parked at SuperAmerica, 14211O’Connell Road, on Jan. 2.
Police are investigating a theft of a purse from a car that was parked at KinderCare, 5710 Loftus Drive, on Jan. 5. It is estimated that the loss of the purse and damage to the vehicle was $1,500.
BURGLARY
A resident of the 12300 block of Ottawa Avenue reported an apartment was burglarized on Jan. 6 and a television valued at $700 was stolen.
On Jan. 7 a Bloomington man reported a burglary and theft of household furniture valued at $580 from a storage locker at Public Storage, 7801 W. 128th St.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
On Jan. 5 a resident of the 13200 block of Maryland Avenue reported a home that was hit with paintballs.
A resident of the 4300 block of West 126th Street reported a home was hit with paintballs on Jan. 6.
On Jan. 6 a resident reported several homes were hit with paintballs in the area of 136th Street and Windsor Avenue.
NARCOTICS
Police assisted the Southwest Drug Task Force with a “buy bust” at Holiday Gas Station, 7461 Egan Drive on Jan. 5. Three men, whose identities were not disclosed as part of the investigation, were taken into custody by the task force for drug charges. Police found methamphetamines on one man who was arrested.
ASSAULT
On Jan. 4 a 29-year-old Prior Lake woman was cited for fifth-degree assault after allegedly fighting with a 19-year-old woman in a home in the 14100 block of Quentin Avenue.
A 25-year-old man from Savage was arrested for fifth-degree domestic assault after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in the 13700 block of Inglewood Avenue on Jan. 5.
HARASSMENT
A 24-year-old man from Savage was arrested for violation of a restraining order in the 13700 block of Inglewood Avenue on Jan. 6.
LIQUOR LAW VIOLATIONS
On Jan. 5 a 16-year-old girl from Savage was cited for minor consumption of alcohol and possession of alcohol at Prior Lake High School, 7575 W. 150th St.
A 15-year-old Prior Lake girl was cited for minor consumption of alcohol at Prior Lake High School, 7575 W. 150th St., on Jan. 5.
MISCELLANEOUS
A 47-year-old Shakopee woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant for assault on Jan. 3 after police responded to a trespassing call in the 12400 block of Princeton Avenue.
