To attend Florida Institute of Technology
Monica Ebert of Eden Prairie will be enrolling at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla.
Monica, who will graduate in 2007 from Eden Prairie High School, will become a member of the Florida Tech 2007-2008 entering class, pursuing a degree in space sciences, astrophysics. She is the daughter of Jody Ebert and Jon Ebert.
Receives scholarships
Jennifer Nicklay, daughter of Allen and Nancy Nicklay of Eden Prairie, is a 2007 graduate of Eden Prairie High School and has been awarded the Minnesota Gold Scholarship, a study abroad scholarship, and the Edward B. Lewis Memorial Scholarship.
Jennifer will be a freshman in the fall at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in the College of Biological Sciences.
Gives presentation at Bemidji State
Matt Kistner of Eden Prairie gave a presentation at Bemidji State University’s Student Scholarship and Creative Achievement Conference.
Matt is a senior majoring in physics who is one of two students participating in a presentation entitled “Radio Jove: Listening to Jupiter.” This study focused on studying the radio emissions from Jupiter in order to learn more about the planet’s magnetic field, internal composition, and moons.
The conference is an annual event that allows students to present scholastic and artistic projects they have created throughout the year.
Graduate from UW-Eau Claire
The following students from Eden Prairie were among the spring graduation candidates at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire: Joylyn Anderson, who received a degree in nursing from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences; Kyle Cook, who received a degree in management from the College of Business; Ryan Hagen, who received a degree in theatre arts from the College of Arts and Sciences; Rachel Hawkins, who received a degree in social work from the College of Education and Human Science; Nicole Heier, who received a nursing degree from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences; and Zuri Miller, who received a degree in marketing from the College of Business.
Honored at Truman State
Jonathan George Rothfusz of Eden Prairie was named to the spring 2007 Vice President for Academic Affairs’ List at Truman State University. To qualify, an undergraduate student must attain a semester 3.50-3.99 grade point average and must complete 12 semester hours of credit.
Jonathan is a business administration major.
Graduate from U of M
Ashley Bensfield and Brandi Marie Johnson of Eden Prairie were awarded a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the University of Minnesota on May 5 at the Northrop Auditorium in Minneapolis.
Graduate from College of St. Benedict
The following students from Eden Prairie participated in commencement ceremonies at the College of Saint Benedict on May 12: Meghan Poepping, daughter of Don and Mary Poepping, who received a bachelor of arts degree in history, with the honor of cum laude; Molly C. Malone, daughter of Greg and Val Malone, who received a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies; Amanda Taylor, daughter of Kirk and Mary Taylor, who received a bachelor of arts degree in political science and Spanish; and Lindsay Wyatt, daughter of Jim and Lori Wyatt, who received a bachelor of arts degree in management.
Honored at Minnesota State, Mankato
Daniel Miller has been named recipient of a $2,500 Maverick Scholarship from Minnesota State University, Mankato for the 2007-2008 academic school year.
Minnesota State Mankato is committed to providing encouragement and opportunities for those students planning to continue their education. This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.
Daniel is the son of David and Christe Miller of Eden Prairie.
Graduates from Princeton Theological Seminary
Jonathan Cornell, son of Greg and Barb Cornell of Eden Prairie, graduated May 19, 2007, from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, N.J., where he earned a master of divinity degree.
Jonathan is a 1999 graduate of Eden Prairie High School, and a 2003 graduate of St. Olaf College.
Graduates from USC
Angela Shockley, daughter of Brett and Melissa Shockley of Eden Prairie, has graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California where she earned a degree in business administration.
Angela has accepted a position with G.E. Health Care’s Commercial Leadership Program in Cardiology Sales Management. She is a 2003 graduate of Eden Prairie High School.
Graduates from Concordia College
Leanne White was among 511 students who participated in spring commencement exercises Sunday, April 29 at Concordia College, Moorhead.
Leanne graduated magna cum laude and is the daughter of Christopher and Francine White of Eden Prairie. Leanne majored in elementary education, and minored in coaching.
Graduates from Metropolitan State University
Eric Lucero of Eden Prairie graduated May 3, 2007, with a computer forensics degree from Metropolitan State University.
Eric is the first to graduate from the Metropolitan State program, which is unique among four-year colleges and universities in the Upper Midwest. The 124-credit program started fall 2005 and now boasts 72 students.
Named to dean’s list at Seattle Pacific
Elise Rose Dye, Jennifer Lynn Kratz and Gina Marie Moorhead, all of Eden Prairie, were among the students named to the Seattle Pacific University 2007 winter quarter dean’s list.
Students on the dean’s list have completed at least 12 credits and attained a 3.50 or higher grade point average.
Graduates from Concordia College
Ann Bjerke was among 511 students who participated in spring commencement exercises Sunday, April 29 at Concordia College, Moorhead.
She majored in Spanish, global studies. Ann is the daughter of Paul and Debra Bjerke of Eden Prairie.
Graduates from St. John’s University
Gabriel Lamar Hamilton, son of Lamar Hamilton of Eden Prairie, and Judy Hamilton participated in commencement ceremonies at St. John’s University of May 13 in the St. John’s Abbey Church.
Gabriel is a candidate to receive a bachelor of arts degree in management.
Graduates from Boston College
Megan N. Harriman, daughter of Randy and Ranee Jacobus, graduated from Boston College on May 21, 2007 with a bachelor of arts degree in history and a minor in chemistry. She was one of 60 students out of her class of over 2,000 inducted into the Order of the Cross and Crown Honor Society, which is reserved for those students who, while maintaining an A-average, have established records of unusual service and leadership on campus. While at Boston College, Megan was a member of the Women’s Ice Hockey Team in 2003-04; was a member of their top a cappella singing group, The Bostonians, from 2004-07; was elected The Bostonians Executive Director in 2006-07; was inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta History National Honor Society; and participated in Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
Megan will attend Marquette University Dental School in Milwaukee, Wis., in the fall. She was a 2003 graduate of Eden Prairie High School.
Graduates from St. John’s University
Nicholas A. Musech, son of Alan and Julie Musech, received a bachelor of arts degree from St. John’s University in Collegeville, on May 13, 2007.
Nicholas majored in accounting, with an emphasis in finance and a minor in economics.
He is a 2003 graduate of Eden Prairie High School.

Christina Frey, daughter of Phillip and Sandra Frey of Eden Prairie, is a 2007 graduate of Eden Prairie High School and has been awarded the Harriet B. Snyder and Esther Snyder Merrill Scholarship.
