DNR question: Limits on dock length?
The question of the week from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR):
Q: With the water levels low in my lake this year, are there any rules on how far out I can put my dock?
A: Docks should only be long enough for their intended purpose – typically to get to deep enough water for navigation, or about four feet of depth. The main rules to remember when extending docks are that a person cannot install a dock that obstructs navigation or creates a water safety hazard.
