Pets of the Week

Nike

Meet Nike, a 10-month-old Shepherd mix. He’s covered with golden fur and filled with energy. He seems to like everyone and everything and just wants to be friends. He came to CSHS as a stray, but appears to have been given some socialization and training.

For only being 10 months old, Nike already knows sit, lay, shake, and is mostly house-trained. He does OK in a crate/kennel, but would prefer to be out with his people. He’s good around other dogs, but could probably benefit from some more training to work on his manners. Nothing unusual for a dog his age, has a lot of energy and doesn’t always know how to express that with other dogs.

Nike is ready to go to a home and would do best with an active family that can give him walks/runs and possibly has another dog for him to play with. He sticks by his owner so a fenced-in yard isn’t a must, but as he’s a stray we’d recommend being on l eash at all times. Nike would be a terrific addition to any household that knows the training and commitment it takes to raise a puppy. His adoption fee is $400 plus tax (adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm testing, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery).

Figaro

Meet Figaro. Figaro is a 2-year-old domestic shorthair male. He is a stately fellow. With his black and white fur, he has the beautiful markings of a penguin or maybe a panda, ready for a night on the town with his unique tuxedo. Figaro is shy and calm but will roll and purr when you start to pet him. He’s a round guy and feels a little awkward when picked up, but he is affectionate and friendly with people. He seems a little shy around other cats and we’re not sure how he’d be around dogs.

Figaro was found as a stray in northern Minnesota. Except for a little spot where his skin was irritated by his flea medication, Figaro is a healthy guy. It may take him a couple days to settle in but Figaro is ready and waiting for his new home. He is located at Chuck & Don’s in Savage, where he’d love a few visitors. His adoption fee is $125 plus tax (adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, FIV/FeLV test, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery).

These and other friendly pets are available for adoption through Carver-Scott Humane Society. All adoptable pets are checked for temperament, up-to-date on shots, vet-checked, spayed/neutered, and micro-chipped.
