Meeker County Sheriff Report 9/30/16-10/2/16

Friday Sept. 30, 2016

On the 30th at 12:19 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office came upon an injured deer on US Highway 12 near 237th Street, Dassel Township. The deputy put down the deer and removed it from the roadway.

On the 30th at 8:30 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office assisted the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office with making contact with an individual at a residence on Meeker Avenue South, Watkins.

On the 30th at 9:12 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residence on County State Aid Highway 19, Kingston. The deputy spoke to the home owner and found that everything was okay at the residence.

On the 30th at 9:23 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a dog complaint on County State Aid Highway 27, Kingston. The owner of the dog was warned of the complaint.

On the 30th at 11:36 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to an animal complaint on County State Aid Highway 1, Litchfield Township. The deputy issued a deer possession tag for the animal.

On the 30th at 3:04 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a property damage accident with an animal on US Highway 12, Acton Township. There were no injuries reported and the animal was removed from the highway.

On the 30th at 3:21 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance at a residence on Church Street, Watkins. The deputy spoke to all parties involved. One individual was going to be leaving the residence.

On the 30th at 3:47 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance on County State Aid Highway 26, Cedar Mills. The deputy advised all individual of their options.

On the 30th at 4:03 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a scam attempt at a residence on East Curran Street, Darwin. There was no money lost.

On the 30th at 4:30 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of unsafe conditions at a residence on West Gemini Avenue, Cosmos. The deputy spoke to the individual and the issue will be taken care of today.

On the 30th at 5:06 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of juvenile trouble at a residence on South Avenue West, Grove City. The deputy spoke with both parties advised options and there were no further issues.

On the 30th at 9:04 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a civil dispute near US Highway 12 and County State Aid Highway 24, City of Darwin. The deputies made contact with both parties, mediated the situation, and advised options.

On the 30th at 9:25 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office took a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on 590th Avenue, Cedar Mills Township.

Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016

On the 1st at 5:57 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near a residence on 640th Avenue, Ellsworth Township. The deputy found that the vehicle was no longer in the area.

On the 1st at 7:00 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office took information on suspicious activity at a residence on West William Street, Darwin.

On the 1st at 10:08 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office took a report of criminal damage to property at a residence on Galigers Lane, Dassel.

On the 1st at 1:37 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office took a report of a property damage accident on County State Aid Highway 11, Acton Township. There were no injuries reported.

On the 1st at 1:39 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office took a report of juvenile trouble at a residence on 573rd Avenue, Greenleaf Township.

On the 1st at 2:55 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office assisted an individual at a residence on MN Highway 7, Cedar Mills Township, with some civil questions.

On the 1st at 2:56 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious person at an address on Parker Avenue West, Dassel. The individual was no longer in the area upon the deputy’s arrival.

On the 1st at 5:50 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to an animal complaint in the area of MN Highway 4 and 365th Street, Union Grove Township. The MN DNR was contacted and they will take care of the complaint.

On the 1st at 6:18 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office took a report of assisting an individual at a residence on Willis Street, City of Dassel.

On the 1st at 8:42 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of suspicious activity near the railroad tracks in the City of Dassel. The deputy made contact with two individuals who were out looking for scrap and were advised of the complaint.

On the 1st at 10:17 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a driving complaint near the intersection of 150th Street and 620th Avenue, Cedar Mills Township. The deputy checked the area and determined that the vehicles had left prior to arrival.

On the 1st at 10:43 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a residence on US Highway 12, City of Dassel. The deputy checked the area and determined that the vehicle had left prior to arrival.

On the 1st at 11:11 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a possible game violation near a residence on 140th Street, Cedar Mills Township. The deputy checked the area and the cause for concern could not be located.

On the 1st at 11:31 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office received information regarding vehicle tampering at a residence on North 1st Street, City of Darwin.

On the 1st at 11:38 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a noise complaint at a residence on Guy Street, City of Dassel. The deputy spoke with the homeowner who was advised of the complaint and given a warning.

Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016

On the 2nd at 12:25 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office forwarded information to the Cosmos Police Department regarding a report of suspicious activity at a residence on South Milky Way Street, City of Cosmos.

On the 2nd at 2:05 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office observed an occupied stalled vehicle on US Highway 12, Dassel Township. The deputy made contact with two individuals who were advised of park hours and advised to move on.

On the 2nd at 4:32 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to assist the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office in delivering an emergency message to a resident on County State Aid Highway 20, Union Grove Township.

On the 2nd at 5:06 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a runaway from a residence on North Milky Way Street, City of Cosmos. The child returned home prior to the officer’s arrival.

On the 2nd at 11:12 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office assisted an individual at a stalled vehicle on MN Highway 24, Forest City Township.

On the 2nd at 1:17 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office arrested Aaron Dont’e Ashley, age 24, of St Cloud, on a Stearns County Warrant for a felony 3rd degree controlled substance.

On the 2nd at 3:24 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office assisted the MN State Patrol with a motorcycle accident on MN Highway 55, Manannah Township. Watkins Ambulance and Eden Valley Fire Rescue Squads also responded to the scene. One individual was transported to the St Cloud Hospital.
