BOYS HOCKEY: Lourdes routs Hutch at home

Hutchinson’s boys hockey team kept it close Friday in the first period of its game against the Rochester Lourdes Eagles, but the Tigers couldn’t hold on long and lost 5-1 at Burich Arena.

The Eagles scored every period and had the first two goals of the game to take an early lead. Hutchinson’s Lane Glaser scored late in the first period to make it a 2-1 game, but that’s as close as the Tigers got.

Hutch was held to 11 shots on goal and was scoreless the rest of the night. Rochester added two more goals in the second period, including a short-handed goal, then tacked on one more in the third period to finish the day with 39 shots.

The Tigers (3-6-1) are on the road now and were scheduled to play at Cambridge-Isanti Tuesday. Their next game is 7 p.m. Saturday at Litchfield when they play the Dragons in a conference game.
