PUBLIC RECORD: McLeod County Sheriff’s Office

The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents: 

AUG. 1: At 10:45 p.m., the sheriff’s office responded to a vehicle partially in the ditch in the area of Koala Road and 155th Street, north of Glencoe. A sheriff’s deputy assisted with traffic control while a private party removed the vehicle. 

AUG. 2: At 7:07 a.m., the sheriff’s office responded to a two-vehicle crash on County Road 9 and State Highway 7, near Lester Prairie. A 2015 Toyota driven by Kathleen McBee, 47, was stopped at the stop sign. A 2016 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Christine Ernst, 44, was stopped behind it. When the Toyota inched forward, Ernst reportedly thought it was leaving the intersection, and rear-ended it. 

At 7:13 p.m., the sheriff’s office responded to a dog bite call on Kale Drive, west of Silver Lake. The dog was impounded at the Lester Prairie Vet Clinic.

AUG. 3: At 7:58 p.m., the sheriff’s office responded to a tree on a power line in the area of State Highway 7 and Grain Avenue, northeast of Silver Lake. Silver Lake Fire and McLeod County Co-op assisted.

At 8:34 p.m., the sheriff’s office responded to a downed power line and tree on 217th Street, northeast of Silver Lake. McLeod County Co-op responded.

AUG. 4: At 6:05 p.m., the sheriff’s office responded to a theft on South Street in Stewart. The case is under investigation.
