Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt medallion found
After seven clues, the Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt medallion was found midday Saturday at Roseville’s Central Park.
This marks the second time in the hunt’s eight-decade history that the medallion has been hidden at Central Park and the third time it’s been in Roseville: The medallion was taped between leaves at Acorn Park in 1981 and hidden with no disguise in Central Park for an unexpected second hunt in 2007 after the first hunt was solved more quickly than expected.
This year’s hunt is also the second in a row to conclude after seven clues. Last year, Luke and Josh Koopmeiners and their three-generation-strong Koops Crew found the medallion in the same amount of time, when it was hidden at Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary.
