Greg Eslinger, Blake Elliott elected to College Football Hall of Fame
Former Minnesota center Greg Eslinger and St. John’s receiver Blake Elliott were named to the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame class on Wednesday.
They will be officially inducted along with 16 other players and four coaches, including Urban Meyer and Nick Saban, on Dec. 9.
Eslinger won the Outland and Rimington trophies, and was a unanimous All-American after his senior season in 2005. During his time at Minnesota, he started 50 games and helped the Gophers go 32-18. With Eslinger anchoring the offensive line, Minnesota set single-season offensive records for rushing yards (3,759), rushing touchdowns (46) and points per game (38.7), among others.
Elliott helped lead the Johnnies to the 2003 Division III title as a senior and ended his career ranked among the receiving leaders in all divisions of college football with 369 receptions for 4,826 yards and 63 touchdowns. He was the winner of the 2003 Gagliardi Trophy given annually to Division III’s top player.
Former Vikings fullback Jim Kleinsasser also will be inducted for his time as a tight end at North Dakota.
