Douglas is dealing with an ankle injury that limited him in every practice this week. He is the Patriots’ second-leading receiver this season by catches (48) and receiving yards (477). Douglas has caught multiple passes in every game but one this season and finished with a team-high 62 yards last weekend at Miami.

Safeties Kyle Dugger and Jabrill Peppers are also questionable, along with left tackle Vederian Lowe. Peppers (knee) returned to practice this week for the first time since being arrested for assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of a class “B” substance on Oct. 5. Earlier this week, Peppers said his body felt good after his seven weeks away, during which time he returned to his native New Jersey and worked out.

“There’s a lot to be thankful for right now. Just happy to be back around the guys, happy to be back around the building, happy to get back to doing what I love to do,” Peppers said Tuesday.

Patriots coach Jerod Mayo addressed Peppers’ situation before practice Friday.

“Yeah, the thing I’ll say, it’s probably too early to tell about Sunday. Today’s a big day for him,” Mayo said in a morning press conference. “It’s a big day for all of us, but he looks good.”

Defensive lineman Christian Barmore was removed from the injury report for the first time since returning from his blood clots diagnosis earlier this month. Barmore participated in every practice this week, another first for the 25-year-old who previously practiced just once before playing in games against the Rams and Dolphins.

In Indianapolis, the Colts ruled out leading receiver Josh Downs and starting right tackle Braden Smith. Without Downs, Indianapolis will be leaning heavily on outside receivers Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce.
