New England connections to ‘Dancing with the Stars’ make season finale, including Danny Amendola
The “Dancing with the Stars”’ semifinal conclusion shocked competitors and fans alike.
As Olympians Ilona Maher and Stephen Nedoroscik stood by with their partners to hear which of them would be eliminated, the announcers declared that both pairs would compete next week for a shot at the mirrorball trophy.
With all five semifinalists moving on, celebrities Maher, Nedoroscik, Chandler Kinney, Danny Amendola and Joey Graziadei will all compete with their partners one last time next Tuesday.
While the season finale of “Dancing with Stars” may air live from Los Angeles, New England is well represented among the final contestants.

Maher is from Burlington, Vermont, and attended college at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, where she won three titles with the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association.
The Rugby player found international fame on social media through her viral TikToks. In 2020, she tested out the cardboard beds in the Tokyo Olympic village and has become well-known for combining beauty and brawn in athletics. She’s continued her social media efforts with Bersten by her side to show behind-the-scenes moments with the perfect trending TikTok sounds.
With “Dancing with the Stars” relying on voter participation, the fan favorites’ social media approach has proven essential to their success.
Stephen Nedoroscik
Another viral Olympian, Nedoroscik may be better known as “pommel horse guy,” from the 2024 Team USA men’s artistic gymnastics squad.

Nedoroscik hails from Worcester and started his gymnastics career at Sterling Gym.
Brought on the team as a pommel horse specialist, Nedoroscik clinched a bronze medal for Team USA and has since been compared to “Clark Kent” for his seemingly different personas when he takes off his now-iconic glasses.
On “Dancing with the Stars,” Nedoroscik was paired with pro Rylee Arnold, and the duo’s friendship, double dates and antics have captured online audiences’ hearts.
Danny Amendola

Amendola has made several references to his football career throughout the season, including a special shoutout to former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady during the show’s Disney-themed night.
“One Disney tradition that I love is hearing somebody from the Super Bowl winning team say, ‘I’m going to Disneyland,’” Amendola said. “A bunch of my friends have got to say it – Deion Branch, Julian Edelman – but I never got to say it, because I played with Tom Brady.”
In October, their dance to “Unsteady” by the X Ambassadors went viral, with more than 12 million views and counting on TikTok alone. The dance, choreographed by Carson, inspired others to try to recreate their now-iconic leg lift.
The dance marked a shift in Amendola’s trajectory, with the pair now consistently among the top of the leaderboards.
Jenn Trann
Trann, a former Bachelorette, was eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars” on the Halloween episode but has continued to make headlines with a suspected showmance with her partner, Sasha Farber.
She too has lived in Boston and worked as a bartender and a clinical care technician at Tufts Medical Center. Trann was studying to become a physical assistant but has taken a break.
