President-elect Trump names New Hampshire’s Karoline Leavitt press secretary
The front-facing voice of the Trump administration will be Karoline Leavitt of New Hampshire, the president-elect announced Friday night.
The 27-year-old Leavitt was the Trump Campaign National Press Secretary and previously served in the 45th president’s White House as Assistant Press Secretary. She also ran for Congress in the Granite State.
“Karoline Leavitt did a phenomenal job as the National Press Secretary on my Historic Campaign, and I am pleased to announce she will serve as White House Press Secretary,” President-elect Donald Trump said in a statement emailed to the Herald.
“Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we, Make America Great Again,” Trump added.
This makes Leavitt the voice of the incoming administration.
In 2022, Leavitt won the Republican nomination in the 1st Congressional District before Rep. Chris Pappas defeated her in the general election, according to WMUR-TV in NH.
