Thursday Pickorama
OK, much better effort this week.
After a ghastly 4-6 record, we bounced back nicely to the tune of 8-2 to boost our record to 71-29 on the season (71 percent for those scoring at home).
We knew early on that we were not going to get a perfect week when Bourne made the long distance commute and wasn’t fazed in the least by defeating KIPP.
I guess if you’re going to lose, you gotta have some fun with that prediction. We picked Milton over Dartmouth and called the Wildcats could very well be a sleeper in Division 3.
After four quarters of play, Milton and I both had something in common – that pick went to sleep. The Indians made the key plays and advanced to the state quarterfinals.
FAIRHAVEN over Lynnfield: The best defense could be a good offense and Fairhaven has certainly has that.
ST. JOHN’S PREP over Methuen: Eagles seem to have righted the ship on the defensive side of the ball.
Springfield Central over BC HIGH: Battle of the Eagles goes to the visitors.
NEEDHAM over Central Catholic: This one could very well be the best of the higher divisional matchups.
MASHPEE over Amesbury: Falcons have the potential to go all the way.
DUXBURY over Canton: Dragons are peaking at the right time on both sides of the ball.
NASHOBA TECH over Cathedral: We are officially on the NT Bandwagon.
SCITUATE over Wayland: Scoreboard operator has been put on high alert.
TABOR over Dexter Southfield: Too much firepower on the side of the host Seawolves.
BB&N over St. Paul’s: You think I am picking against BB&N in a bowl game named for its former football coach again?
