Throwback Thursday: Anti-inflation protesters circa 1945

In the days before social media, making your voice heard sometimes meant taking to the streets. Or at least as much of the street as Capitol police would allow. When this Nov. 14, 1945 photo was taken, women of the New York City Consumer Council walked to the Capitol from Union Station in Washington, but were told by police that they couldn’t carry their placards to the Capitol. The women went to Washington for an anti-inflation meeting. (AP Photo)
